AssetPlatform.org is jointly owned by The Aspen Institute and the Center for the Study of Social Policy.  AssetPlatform.org is committed to protecting your privacy and that of your clients.  To enhance your experience on AssetPlatform.org, and to gather some information about the effect tools like AssetPlatform.org can have on the services and capacity of the asset building field, we will occasionally ask for information about you. Below, you will find descriptions of the instances when AssetPlatform.org requires information from you, and how this information will be used.

What information do we collect?

AssetPlatform.org Organization and Staff Registration:  When you register with AssetPlatform.org, we collect some basic information about you and your organization affiliation.  We use this information to help us document the use of AssetPlatform.org in the field, and to help identify you when you return to AssetPlatform.org.  When you register with AssetPlatform.org, a cookie will be placed on your machine, so that you are recognized when you return to the site. A cookie is just a name for a small file.

Survey Information: 

AssetPlatform.org is an innovative tool being used to help build capacity in the asset building field.  We collect baseline information on organization and staff members using the Platform, and that information is periodically updated.  The data gathered from these surveys is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the Platform.  Individual survey data is kept confidential, and findings are reported externally only in ways that protect the confidentiality of individual staff, clients, and organizations. 

Client Registration: 

When clients register with AsssetPlatform.org, we collect some basic information about you to help identify you when you return to AssetPlatform.org.  That information is limited to your name, address, contact information, and birth date.  As you use the services on AssetPlatform.org, we will accumulate statistics on the services used and completed.  That information will be shared with the program working with you when you accessed those services.  Otherwise, that information will be kept confidential.

Should you choose to sign up for any products or services through AssetPlatform.org, all information you provide to them is covered by their own separate privacy statement.  You should be sure that you are comfortable with the terms of their statement of privacy before giving away any information about yourself.  AssetPlatform.org does not endorse, and is not responsible, for the privacy practices of these Third Party Websites.  Any information exchanged with these vendors is not captured or maintained by AssetPlatform.org

No other tools on AssetPlatform.org that require information from you store or collect that information, unless specified in this privacy statement.

Disclosure.

AssetPlatform.org does not give away or sell any information it collects. We do reserve the right to release information you have submitted when such release is required by law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order.  Contractors involved in the maintenance and operation of the AssetPlatform.org website may have limited access to your personally identifiable information in order to perform necessary services for us, additionally, these contractors may have access to your email address to send information to you on our behalf.  Access to your personally identifiable information is limited to the extent necessary for such contractors to perform their obligations to AssetPlatform.org.

Our Use of Information

By registering and providing information about yourself and your organization, you are giving consent for AssetPlatform.org to use this information internally. If our policy should change regarding the use of this information, it will be posted in this privacy statement. 

Applicability of Policy

The AssetPlatform.org privacy policy does not apply to the content, business information, concepts or personally identifiable information that you send to us via email.  Any information shared, including personally identifiable information, by you in a chat room, on a message board or through an online discussion is open to the public, and is therefore not private.  Information disclosed may be viewed and used by third parties not controlled by AssetPlatform.org, and this Privacy Policy does not apply in such situations.

Changes to Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this policy from time to time.  We will not notify you of such changes unless the change effects your personally identifiable information.  We will not be liable for failure to receive such notice prior to the implementation of such change.

Limitations on Policy

We do take serious precautions to protect you from the misuse of information under our control. The site is carefully monitored to detect any attempts to compromise security. This doesn't mean we warrant or ensure any information you transmit through AssetPlatform.org will not be compromised by outside parties. We take reasonable efforts to provide security, but the ultimate risk of compromised security is still yours.
